A man has been charged with murder following the discovery of a woman's body at an address in Te Anau.

Police said they received information last night suggesting that a woman had died in the area.
The woman's body was found at the Explorere Motel and Apartments on Cleddau St.
A 52-year-old man was arrested and charged with murder. He has been remanded in custody after appearing in the District Court in Invercargill today.
He will next appear on 9 June.
Police said the victim and the alleged offender were known to each other and there was no risk to the public.
