Two people have been injured in a one vehicle crash on State Highway 35, near Waiomoko Road, Whāngārā, Gisborne.
One person is in a serious condition, the other has suffered minor injuries, police said in a statement.
The road is blocked and police are advising motorists to take State Highway 2.
The crash was reported about 9.50am.
The Serious Crash Unit has been advised.
