A 46-year-old teacher in French Polynesia has been taken into custody for alleged sexual abuse.
The Depeche de Tahiti reports that a woman lodged a complaint against the man over an incident in 2008 when she was at primary school on Moorea.
After prolonged questioning he has been charged with aggravated rape and remanded to Nuutania prison.
The paper says in 2011 several similar complaints had been lodged against him but the cases were all eventually closed.
The detained man has been teaching on Tahiti.
