So far, two depots walked off the job yesterday and today in a bid for better pay and working conditions.

Staff at the Onehunga depot were due to follow suit tomorrow, but First Union now said that had been cancelled pending negotiations with NZ Bus.

Organiser Graham McKean said they were getting closer to a settlement, with both sides making concessions.

However, the strike action by Pavlovich drivers will continue tomorrow, affecting 34 trips between 7 and 9am.
