Australia seal consolation Ashes win

09:56 am on 24 August 2015

The Australian cricketers sealed a consolation victory in the final Test by an innings and 46 runs before England captain Alastair Cook lifted the Ashes urn at the end of a dramatic and fluctuating series.

Australia's skipper Michael Clarke celebrated an emphatic win on a rain-disrupted fourth day of his final Test match as England were bowled out for 286 at The Oval in London.

But before being presented with the Ashes urn, Alistair Cook said they couldn't let a loss in the final match take the gloss off a special summer.
