Walsh threw a New Zealand and Oceania record of 22.21 metres with his fifth throw to finish behind Olympic champion Ryan Crouser of the United States at the final meeting of the season in Zagreb, Croatia.

Crouser set a meet record of 22.28 metres to win the event

It's the third time Walsh has broken his own record in the last 11 days.

He won the Diamond League last week after a victory at the meeting in Zurich, Switzerland.

He'll now return home to New Zealand for the first time since winning his bronze medal at the Rio Olympics.
