A former American Samoa lawmaker, Toeaina Faufano Autele, has died at the age of 75.

Toeaina died in a Hawaii hospital, 21 days after the death of his wife.
Regarded as an elder statesman in the territory's fono, Toeaina represented Manu'a until he retired from politics last year.
