A Tahiti newspaper has obtained the full French government financial report which outlines massive cuts to be made in French Polynesia.

The report was compiled by a top French official, Anne Bolliet, on behalf of the French overseas territories minister, Marie-Luce Penchard, who this week is due in Papeete to discuss further reforms.

To halt the economy's decline and slow the indebtedness, the reports points to an urgent need to cut expenses.

It advises that the size of the administration be reduced, warning of social services being at risk and the possibiity of closing agencies, including Tahiti Nui TV.
