Breakers suspend BJ Anthony for ten days

05:49 am on 9 February 2012

The Breakers forward BJ Anthony has been suspended for ten days and will miss the side's next two Australian National Basketball games.

The club's general manager Richard Clarke says Anthony was unfit to contribute fully at practice on Saturday, turning up hungover.

The team driven suspension means he'll sit out all practices and two games against Wollongong.

Anthony was convicted of a second drink drive offence late last year but Clarke says that didn't play a part in the suspension.

In November the club terminated the contract of guard Corey Webster after he returned a second positive drugs test in the space of two years.
