A trust established to provide affordable land to homeowners displaced by the Canterbury earthquakes, now has 18 sections available.
The Canterbury Co-operative Land Trust was set up last year. The first stage of the development in Rolleston is now ready with sections costing from $113,000 - $139,000.
Trustee Grant McKinnon, a property developer, says the sections are available to residents who have had to leave their homes and have received a Government or insurance payment.
He says 160 households have so far registered on the trust's website.
Mr McKinnon says the costs of the section can be reduced by using a cooperative structure to carry out the development.
