Rowing NZ confirms team for World Champs

Rowing New Zealand has confirmed a team of 53 athletes in 16 boats for this month's World Championships in Austria.

The team is headed by women's single sculler Emma Twigg, who won the two World Cup events she competed in earlier this year.

Grace Prendergast and Kerri Gowler will row in both the pair and the eight.

The team also includes a newly formed women's quad of Hannah Osborne, Sam Voss, Ruby Tew and Kirstyn Goodger.

Robbie Manson competes in the men's singles sculls against 43 other nations, while there are 39 nations competing in the women's single sculls.

The regatta also acts as qualification for next year's Tokyo Olympics.

There are nine Olympic places available for the single scullers, 11 for the pair and double sculls, eight for the four and quad, five for the eight and seven for the lightweight double sculls.
