Christchurch residents are being consulted about how the Wainui Wastewater Scheme on Banks Peninsula should be delivered.
The Christchurch City Council opened consultation today on the scheme.
The council's Infrastructure, Transport and Environment chairperson, Phil Clearwater, said there were three options being put to residents.
He said the options included the council sharing the project costs with property owners, delaying until the 2018 to 2028 long-term plan, or proceeding as planned in July.
Phil Clearwater said the council has had to think hard about the scheme's delivery, due to council finances being under significant pressure.
