More than 50 Auckland residents have sought help from a mayoral relief fund to cover costs from the Papatoetoe tornado last month.
Eleven houses remain uninhabitable and 63 have "serious damage".
Thirty-nine people from 16 households are in temporary accommodation while their homes are repaired.
In addition to 429 Civil Defence payments totalling nearly $100,000, Auckland Council has paid out 47 grants ranging between $300 and $15,000 and it is assessing four more applications.
The council said it still has contractors out on the streets cleaning up damage - today they have been focusing on Puhinui Road.
Auckland Council recovery manager Jennifer Rose said the payments had been used for a range of expenses like insurance excess, repairs and essential items.
"That's including repairs to damaged homes, cars, help with insurance excess, providing necessities such as clothing, food and bedding, it's been a real range of things people have applied for," she said.
Rose said there was still money available and people can apply to the fund until 19 July.
