A man has drowned at Northland's Ruakākā Beach.
Police said officers were called to the beach around 11.20am on Thursday after a man got into difficulty in the water.
He was recovered from the water and brought onto the shore for CPR.
"Sadly, he was unable to be revived."
Police said his death would be referred to the coroner.
