The son of a man killed at the Affco meat plant in Wairoa last week and the district's mayor are calling on the company to be upfront with workers about when the plant will fully reopen and whether it's safe.
Sixty-one-year-old Alfred Edwards, known as "Baldy", died some time last Wednesday but his body lay undiscovered for at least five hours - until half past five that evening.
