14 confirmed dengue cases in Cook Islands

There are now 14 confirmed cases of type 1 dengue in the Cook Islands.

The outbreak, which is concentrated on the main island of Rarotonga, has escalated since it was declared in early March.

Since the last update from the Ministry of Health, there have been another 8 confirmed cases, while six more are rated probable.

Health secretary Dr Josephine Herman told the Cook Islands News on Saturday that three patients have been admitted to Rarotonga Hospital.
