Fiji's prime minister, Frank Bainimarama, has left the COP21 conference in Paris early because of the death of his older brother, Ratu Meli Bainimarama.

The Fiji Sun says Mr Bainimarama wasn't due back in Fiji until December the 18th but is now on his way home.

It says the foreign minister, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, will be meeting the prime minister's commitments in Paris.
