Labour leader Helen Clark has found the New Zealand version of 'Joe the Plumber' while on the campaign trail in Auckland.
'Joe the Plumber' shot to fame in the United States when he questioned Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama about his tax plan.
Miss Clark was visiting a rest home in her Mt Albert electorate when a local plumber asked her how Labour would help the self employed.
Obviously aware of the now-famous American tradesman, she slipped the word plumber into her answer nearly a dozen times.
That was not lost on Auckland plumber Morgan Luxton, who said he was a bit embarrassed as he was the only plumber in the room.
Mr Luxton said he is an undecided voter, but leaning towards Labour this time, after having voted for National at the last election.
