A crash in the South Auckland suburb of Papatoetoe has resulted in power lines being brought down.

A vehicle hit a power pole near the intersection of Station Rd and Hillcrest Rd at 1.15pm.
The only occupant of the vehicle has been taken to Middlemore Hospital in a serious condition.
While contractors repair the power pole, police are at the scene and cordons are in place.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area or expect delays for some time while contractors complete their work.
