The All Blacks will play six Tests in New Zealand next year, one of which will be against Ireland at a redeveloped Rugby League park in Christchurch.
Christchurch lost all its World Cup matches because of earthquake damage to AMI stadium, which also forced the Crusaders to play all of their Super Rugby matches this season, on the road.
The Test against Ireland will be in June and will be the first test in Christchurch since the All Blacks played Australia in August last year.
The future of AMI stadium remains uncertain in the wake of damage caused by February's earthquake.
The chief executive of Canterbury rugby, Hamish Riach, says the redevelopment of Rugby League Park is an important part of rebuilding Christchurch and is pleased Crusaders and the Canterbury provincial side will have a home base in Christchurch in 2012.
Construction will start on Rugby League Park will begin next week.
