Knights seal sloppy win against Sharks

18:39 pm on 11 July 2010

The Newcastle Knights have moved within two points of the top eight in the National Rugby League competition, after a 21-10 home win in wet conditions against the Cronulla Sharks.

But the Knights will need to improve if they're to be real contenders for a NRL play-off spot, making 13 errors and managing just one try in the second half, despite several chances.

There wasn't much difference between the two sides, but silly mistakes by Cronulla on their own line cost them the match, and probably any chance of making the finals.

Eight rounds remain before the play-offs.
