Three of the four parties making up New Caledonia's pro-independence FLNKS movement have jointly named two candidates for next month's election of a new French National Assembly.
The two are Charles Washetine and Louis Mapou and they will be running under the banner of the National Union For Independence.
The two want to find a platform to explain their policy of seeking independence from France and mobilise their supporters ahead of next year's planned independence referendum.
The largest faction within the FLNKS, the Caledonian Union, has been boycotting this year's French election, saying it will instead focus on the referendum.
