The ship Tahiti Nui has arrived in Suva to deliver relief items provided by French Polynesia to assist Fiji's rebuilding work in response to last month's Cyclone Yasa.
The consignment of a total 64 tons comprises relief items, building materials and construction equipment and tools, worth more than $US200000.
The offloading took place within strict guidelines and protocols administered by the health officials as French Polynesia has a high Covid-19 infection rate.
A senior Fiji foreign affairs official Esala Nayasi conveyed the Fijian government's appreciation to French Polynesia for reaching out with assistance towards rebuilding lives and communities that have been affected by Yasa.

Pockets of Fiji hit by Yasa are not expected to have power restored before the end of January.
Energy Fiji Limited said there had been significant progress in Savusavu, with power supply now restored to 86 percent of areas.
In Labasa, which is the main town in Vanua Levu, 38 percent of connections have been restored.
