Eight refugees previously held on Manus Island, have left Papua New Guinea's capital of Port Moresby to be resettled in the United States.
The eight men include one Iranian, two Tamils, two Pakistanis, two Rohingyan and one Afghan.
The Refugee Action Coalition says 130 refugees from Manus have now been accepted by the US but there are still over 600 remaining on Manus or in Port Moresby where medical treatment is poor.
The Coaltion says a 46-year-old Iraqi refugee who swallowed razor blades last week is still in hospital awaiting treatment, despite suffering severe abdominal pain.
The group claims he has been shuttled back and forth between the hospitals, since the weekend after his act of self-harm.
One of the hospitals has no facility for acute mental health patients.
The RAC's Ian Rintoul said the medical mistreatment of refugees and asylum seekers on Manus and Nauru is an inextricable element of Australia's offshore detention policy, that has to end.
Mr Rintoul reiterated his call for asylum seekers and refugees to be brought to Australia to end what he calls a crisis.
