The Suva High Court has dismissed a bail variation application from the Fiji Times' Publisher Hank Arts.
Mr Arts who is charged with one count of sedition appeared before Justice Thushara Rajasinghe Friday morning.
He intended to travel to Honolulu, Hawai'i from the 6th to the 17th of this month to celebrate his 28th wedding anniversary.
Despite the defense lawyer informing the court that his client has adhered to all his bail conditions, Justice Rajasinghe dismissed the bail application by saying that the purpose of the travel was not imperative.
The Judge further said that Mr Arts still had the liberty for a vacation in Fiji.
Hank Arts, in his capacity as the Publisher was alleged to have published a statement that was likely to incite dislike, hatred, or antagonism of the Muslim community.
