17-year-old charged in relation to jewellery store robberies on Auckland's North Shore

A 17-year-old has been arrested and charged in relation to a string of store robberies on Auckland's North Shore.

While carrying out a search warrant at an address in Henderson, police said they found a significant amount of jewellery, stolen liquor and tobacco, a stolen car, a stolen motorbike, cannabis packaged for supply at the address.

The 17-year-old is due to appear in the North Shore Youth Court today charged with aggravated robbery of Fifth Avenue Jewellers in Takapuna on 20 April, aggravated robbery of Michael Hill Takapuna on 16 June as well as a burglary at Super Liquor Sunnybrae on 9 August.

Police said inquiries were ongoing to find the origins of some of the jewellery and further charges were under consideration.
