The Harbour Heat have suffered their first loss in the National Basketball League, going down 95-67 to Waikato in Hamilton.

The 28-point win puts the Pistons on top of the table with the same record as the Heat.

The Pistons had three players reach the 20-point mark or over, Thomas Abercrombie (23), Tony Ronaldson (22) and Hayden Allen (20).

As a team the Pistons shot nearly 50% from the field and 57% in the first half compared to the Heat who shot a measly 31% .

Pistons dominated the board outrebounding the visitors 57-36, which was helped by the absence of Dillon Boucher who is nursing an ankle injury.
