The 12-member trade deal, which has sparked strong opposition, was officially signed in Auckland last week.

Trade Minister Todd McClay said the roadshow was to inform the public about the agreement and to assist businesses to plan for its introduction.

"Each roadshow will include an overview information session, followed by workshops on specific areas of TPP," he said;.

"For businesses, it will be an opportunity to learn about how outcomes in TPP are directly relevant to their areas of speciality and markets."

The first meeting will be held in Auckland on 7 March, following by Christchurch on 11 March, Dunedin on 14 March and Wellington on 17 Match.

Further meetings will be held in Hamilton, Napier, Nelson, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Tauranga, and Whangarei later this year.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade will also hold a number of hui to discuss the TPP with Māori.
