Christchurch sprinter wins first title of national track cycling champs

The Christchurch sprinter Adam Stewart has won the first title of the national track cycling champs in Invercargill.

Stewart won the 250m time trial, held for the first time as a test event.

Stewart clocked 18.171 seconds for the standing one lap, beating Auckland's Ethan Mitchell by 3/100ths of a second.
