A tropical depression near the Northern Marianas has developed into a tropical storm and has been named Krosa.
The Micronesian storm system could intensify into a typhoon with cyclone strength winds in the coming days.
Accuweather reports that the depression has brought heavy rainfall to nearby islands since Friday.
While the rain poses a risk of flooding across Guam and the Northern Marianas, it could also be beneficial because the region is in drought.
Meanwhile, tropical storm Lekima is pushing toward Taiwan and mainland China while Francisco is looming before Japan.
