Auckland warned of flash flood risk

The MetService is warning that there could be flash floods in parts of Auckland tomorrow.

Heavy rain, of up to 40 millimetres an hour, is forecast from 6am until mid-afternoon.

The north-east of the region including Whangaparaoa and Waiheke Island is most at risk.

The service is also forecasting heavy rain in Northland, the Coromandel and the East Cape and said there could be heavy snowfall in Southland and Fiordland.
