Milk collection resumes after flooding

06:38 am on 3 January 2012

Fonterra says it has resumed collecting milk from farms in eastern Bay of Plenty that had been cut off by flooding in recent days.

Spokesperson Paul Rennie says it has got access to all its suppliers after roads reopened or detours were found.

"From here on out, assuming no further issues, we should be able to access those farms as normal and provide the normal collection standards."

Mr Rennie says the farming areas worst hit by flooding at the weekend included Whakatane, Opotiki and Waimana.
