The Northern Marianas Visitors Authority says the possibility of the Philippine Airlines extending its air services to the island are dim.
Last year, the airline's president and chief executive officer, Jaime Bautista, was quoted in a newspaper report as saying that the airline plans to offer flights to Saipan, San Diego, Chicago, New York, and Seattle.
But the Visitors Authority's managing director, Perry Tenorio, says the CNMI has not received a bid from the Philippines' flag carrier to revive its service.
Mr Tenorio says although it may help CNMI tourist arrivals, the agency is not banking too much on the idea.
