Police in Canterbury have launched a homicide investigation after a three-month-old baby with serious injuries died.

The baby died in Christchurch Hospital on 2 January 2022 after being admitted with serious injuries on 31 December 2021.
Police are asking anyone with details about how the baby was injured to come forward.
A number of witnesses have been spoken to in relation to the death and police say they have been provided with critical information in the investigation.
