The interim chancellor of the University of Papua New Guinea says lecturers boycotting their classes have not been given the full picture by their union.
Jeffrey Kennedy says about a third of the institution's lecturers continued their boycott on Wednesday.
Their union, the National Academic Staff Association, or NASA, cited the government's decision to suspend the university council in January as one of the reasons for the boycott.
But Mr Kennedy told Ben Robinson Drawbridge NASA does not understand the seriousness of allegations made against the suspended council that the new interim council is dealing with.
