The founders of anti-violence movement She Is Not Your Rehab are giving away their newly released book, to every male prisoner in New Zealand.

My Fathers Barbers, creator Matt Brown has inspired a new generation of men - including many from Pacific communities to break free from the cycle of abuse - which lead to both him and his wife, Sarah, writing the book - She Is Not Your Rehab, featuring how men can heal from their trauma.

During the book launch overnight, the couple announced they had raised enough money to purchase 9,000 copies to give away to every man behind bars across Aotearoa.
"From the very beginning of the journey of writing this book we knew we wanted to make this available and accessible where men needed it most... We wanted it to be available to men in prisons all over Aotearoa, given out in court mandated programmes," Ms Brown said.
In this book, Matt shares his own story and those of his clients: how they survived family violence and abuse, and how they were able to find healing and turn their lives around. He introduces the people and concepts that have helped him heal and gives readers the tools they need to begin their own journeys.
Hundreds of people from across the country came to support the launch of the book in Christchurch at Majestic Church and community hub.
Their hope is that Matt's story about growing up in a home of sexual and domestic violence will give men tools to heal from their trauma like he has done.
Working particularly closely to help Maori and pacific men - they will also be launching a book club within prisons working alongside their trusted friend and psychologist.
They also aim to repeat this internationally in order to reach more men in prison on a global scale.
