Ryder Cup captain faces impossible selection dilemma

Europe's Ryder Cup golf captain Colin Montgomerie believes his faced with a virtually impossible selection dilemma regarding the last three places in his 12-man team, due to be finalised this weekend.

The top nine players in the points table after the final round of this week's Johnnie Walker Championship in Scotland will be automatic selections, and Montgomerie will complete the lineup with his three wildcard selections.

Among those not automatically qualified are three of the world's top-10, Padraig Harrington, Luke Donald and Paul Casey, and Justin Rose, who haven't made Montgomerie's job any easier by deciding to play in the United States this week.

The Ryder Cup match against the United States starts in early October.
