The search for a missing hunter in southern Wairarapa is being boosted with extra teams.
A police spokesperson says the 23-year-old man was expected to arrive at Kawakawa station at lunchtime on Tuesday and was last seen by a tramper early on Monday morning.
Police say the man was hunting with two other people, including his father.
They say the missing man is an experienced tramper and is well-equipped.
Searchers have found a bag of cut-up deer meat which he had stashed in the area.
