Payments service provider Smartpay Holdings says some of its Australian and New Zealand customer information has been stolen in a ransomware cyberattack.
The company said the attack happened on Saturday, 10 June, and it was working with security specialists and government authorities as part of its response.
It said it was still investigating the incident and had taken steps to protect the integrity of its payment systems, which continued to operate normally.
Smartpay said customers did not need to take any action and it would be contacting affected customers directly.
Smartpay said it did not collect or store individual cardholder information or details as part of its transaction processing.
