CNMI's Governor receives draft plan from Health Department

09:10 am on 4 November 2009

The Northern Marianas Governor, Benigno Fitial, has received a draft plan from the Department of Public Health on appropriate recruitment strategies.

The move is in connection with his declaration of a health emergency last month that will pave the way for the hiring of doctors from outside the U.S. and Canada.

But the Governor says the draft is very vague and there is no clear delineation of duties and responsibilities.

In his declaration, the governor ordered the Health Department to immediately adopt new recruitment strategies to restore an adequate level of medical services at the hospital.
