Covid-19: More restrictions for northeastern England

Britain has imposed tougher restrictions in parts of northeastern England as the nation attempts to stem the spread of Covid-19 before the colder winter months.

Almost two million people will be banned from mixing with other households and pubs will close early.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock announced the temporary restrictions will be introduced due to concerning rates of infection.
