Immigration New Zealand is reviewing the past year's visa applications from Filipino nationals wanting work in the dairy industry after a woman was arrested for fraud involving multiple work visas.
The dual Filipino/New Zealand national is charged with offences relating to suspected fraudulent activity, involving multiple work visa applications submitted by Filipinos to work in New Zealand.
The woman has been arrested in Waikato and will appear in court next week.
Immigration New Zealand Assistant General Manager Peter Elms said Immigration NZ had recently strengthened its verification processes and was confident that similar offending has been prevented.
