Guns N' Roses are to play at Eden Park next year - the first ever international concert act to do so.
The US band had been due to play in Dunedin and Wellington later this year, but those concerts are off.
Instead, it will play in Wellington on 8 December 2022 and Auckland on 10 December 2022.
Band members Axl, Slash and Duff sent a message to fans saying "New Zealand, we can't wait to see you bigger and better next Summer!"
Eden Park chief executive Nick Sautner said it was a "truly historic announcement".
"This concert will be a true celebration of a new post-Covid-19 era, providing much-needed entertainment and economic benefit to Auckland."
Dunedin Venues chief executive Terry Davies said the cancellation of the Guns N' Roses concert was the latest disappointment in a brutal 18 months.
The city's Forsyth Barr Stadium had also been meant to host the 100th test between the All Blacks and the Springboks.
Davies said the pandemic had been brutal for Dunedin Venues but he believed as vaccination rates went up and the border reopened Dunedin was well positioned to host events from the middle of next year.
Tickets for the Auckland concert go on sale on 7 October.
Dunedin show ticket holders would automatically receive a full refund from Ticketmaster, the Otago Daily Times reported. They will also have the opportunity to buy the first tickets to the Eden Park concert via an exclusive presale from Friday 1 October until Sunday 3 October.
