A US Congresswoman, with an American Samoan heritage, says she will run for president in 2020.
Tulsi Gabbard, a Democrat holding a congressional seat in Hawaii, is an Iraq War veteran and currently serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
She is also Hindu.
CNN reported Ms Gabbard saying there are a lot of challenges facing the people of the United States and she wants to help solve them.
These issues include health care access, criminal justice reform and climate change.
Ms Gabbard was born in American Samoa in 1981.
Her father is American Samoan and her mother from Indiana.
