A woman has been killed in a car crash near the top of Mount Taranaki.

The 30-year-old suffered fatal injuries after she crashed near the sky field car park at 5.30pm this evening.
She was flown to Taranaki base hospital by rescue crews but died on the way.
Police said members of her family were being notified.
