The Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich has decided to wind up his Russian football development programme that's seen the Chelsea owner plough tens of millions of dollars into the sport in his home country.
A spokesman for his National Football Academy says Abramovich's foundation has achieved all of its aims including the creation of 140 new football pitches nationwide, and a completely renovated youth Football Academy.
Abramovich has been pouring huge sums of money into Russian football since he bought London giants Chelsea in 2004.
