US$107,000 dollars has been raised in American Samoa for victims of natural disasters on the United States mainland and its territories.
One of the coordinators of the fundraiser Tumavave Tauapai Laupola said it had been humbling to witness the outpouring of donations from around American Samoa.
He said donations had come in from villages, churches, businesses, government departments and individuals.
Half of the funds will be handed to the local Red Cross to help with disaster relief in the territory.
The funds raised include $US94,000 in cash and cheques and with pledges totalled $US107,000.
