Formula E driver Mick Cassidy will sample Indy Cars for the first time as he joins Chip Ganassi Racing for a two-day test at Sebring in Florida this week.

Six-time Indy Car champion Scott Dixon drives for the team and this year he'll be joined by Marcus Armstrong who will race for the team on the road circuits.

Former Australian Supercars champions Scott McLaughlin races for Team Penske.

Cassidy's contract with Envision Racing is up for renewal at the end of the 2023 Formula E season, giving him the option to pursue other opportunities outside of the all-electric series.

Cassidy is currently in his third year with Envision and has impressed with his speed on a number of occasions in FE, with a victory in last year's New York double-header the highlight of his stint so far.

He competed in both the German Touring Cars and the FIA World Endurance Championship alongside Formula E last year, but is yet to add a second programme to his 2023 schedule.

The 28-year-old could potentially make his debut in Supercars this year after being linked to a plum endurance drive with Shane van Gisbergen at Triple Eight Racing.

Cassidy finished second in the Formula E race in India last weekend.

The Indy Car seasons starts next month.
