It's business as usual for the New Zealand Defence Force in Sinai despite other countries halting their flights from the Sharm El-Sheikh resort after a Russian plane crashed earlier this week.

Britain and Ireland have stopped flights to and from the resort while analysts look into airport security.

The British government says plane might have been brought down by an explosive device

There are 28 New Zealand troops in Sinai as part of the Egyptian-Israel peace treaty, which includes driving instructors, engineers and several high-ranking commanders and officers.

A spokesperson for the Defence Force says none of its operations are affected by the plane crash, and personal will continue to fly in and out do complete their tour of duties in the usual way.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is continuing to advise New Zealanders not to travel to the Sinai Peninsula and the Sharm El-Sheikh resort areas.

It warns terrorist attacks could happen at any time.
