Fiji's largest opposition party has so far received 100 applications from people wishing to stand as its candidates in the 2018 elections.
SODELPA plans to announce its candidates in April with the aim of having eleven months to campaign before the the country goes to the polls due next year.
The party says its leader Sitiveni Rabuka is also in discussions with other political parties about working together towards the elections.
The ruling Fiji First party currently holds a two thirds majority in parliament.
Two former SODELPA members are in the throes of setting up a new party called the HOPE party but SODELPA has declined to comment on it at this time.
